49ers sit as 7.5 point favorites against Chicago Bears

The 49ers begin their preparations for the Chicago Bears in Week 2. We've got the early gambling line for the game.

The San Francisco 49ers host the Chicago Bears in Week 2, and they are currently favored by 7.5 points. The line opened at Odds Shark at 7 and quickly moved up half a point. Some sites had it opening as low as 6.5, but generally speaking, it is right around 7.5 points.

The Bears are coming off a moderately stunning upset at home to the Buffalo Bills. The Bears entered the game as near touchdown favorites, and then proceeded to struggle most of the day. They fell behind 17-7, and needed a Robbie Gould field with 30 seconds left just to force overtime. They then lost on a Bills field goal in overtime. Jay Cutler put up big yards, but he also made some critical mistakes.

The 49ers covered the 4.5-point spread against the Dallas Cowboys, thanks in large part to jumping out to a 28-3 lead. Thanks, Tony Romo! The 49ers defense looked really solid for stretches, but they also had some moments where they gave up big plays. Considering the injuries to the secondary and the early lead, I suppose this is not a shock. A lot of what the team gave up could qualify as garbage time yards and points.
