Golden Nuggets: Greg Roman interviewing .... for the Rams

Saturday, January 10, 2015 edition of the golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. Greg Roman, he who is so endeared with this fan base is set to interview for... the Rams now vacant offensive coordinator job. To tell you the truth, I was a little concerned that Baalke was going to Baalke and hire the last person on earth any of us thought he would hire. I do feel bad for Greg though, he has not been a good coordinator for the past few seasons, but I really don't think he deserved the amount of hate he received.

What offensive coordinator has really had sustained popularity with their fan base? Sure one might do well for a year or two, but just about any offensive coordinator that shows even a little promise is getting hired somewhere. Unfortunately, the success of the 49ers probably cost Roman a head coaching gig somewhere. He was a hot coaching candidate a few years ago, but deep playoff runs used up what little time most teams can spare to hire their next coach. Roman is a talented X's and O's man, especially when it comes to the run game, hopefully he can learn to call games better in his next job, even if that ends up being the Rams. To the links!
