The San Francisco 49ers will have a decidedly different look on the sideline in 2015, as they will feature almost an entirely new coaching staff. The team announced Jim Tomsula will take over as the new head coach, and we quickly have pieces of news about his potential staff.
Kyle McLorg over at Bay Area Sports Guy initially reported there was going to be a complete turnover of the staff. He reported both offensive line coach Mike Solari and running backs coach Tom Rathman were out, and Rathman was expected to join Greg Roman in Buffalo. However, Alex Marvez has since reported Rathman is the one assistant who will not leave.
Early reports suggest Marc Trestman will be in the mix for offensive coordinator, and Jason Tarver will be in the mix for defensive coordinator. ESPN's Adam Caplan had this to say about the coaching turnover:
#49ers front office will be assisting Tomsula with hiring his assistant coaches.

"@bdownSM: @caplannfl that mean he has no control over staff?" No. Matter of helping him with vetting process. Quite common with new HCs.

He says this kind of things is quite common, but it is obviously easy to read a little more into this given the power dynamic potentially at play. Marvez tweeted a couple times to clarify that latter point, and hopefully Tomsula is not in fact some simple puppet for management. Here was one comparison:
49ers clearing out all assistant coaches except one, FO "helping" put together new staff...yeah, Tomsula is probably SF's Jason Garrett.

It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out, that's for sure.
