The San Francisco 49ers list of interview candidates could grow as this weekend wraps up. Ian Rapoport tweeted that he expects the 49ers to talk with Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak if his team is knocked out of the playoffs this weekend. It is worth noting the 49ers could interview him for their head coach opening in the coming week if the Ravens win.
.@RapSheet on Gary Kubiak: "Once his team is finally done with the playoffs, I would expect the 49ers to show interest in him as well."

The 49ers said they anticipated the search process taking 7-10 days, but they were willing to go longer if needed. By the end of this weekend, they will have reportedly interviewed Vic Fangio, Dan Quinn, Adam Gase, Mike Shanahan, Josh McDaniels and Rex Ryan. They have requested permission to interview Todd Bowles, Teryl Austin, and Kyle Shanahan, and there is also the matter of interviewing Jim Tomsula. The list just grows and grows.
Kubiak has done a great job turning around the Ravens offense. Prior to that he spent almost eight full seasons with the Houston Texans. His time there peaked in 2011 and 2012 when his teams went 10-6 and 12-4, and won a playoff game each season. He followed that up with a 2-11 season and was fired with three games remaining.
What are your thoughts on Kubiak s a candidate?
