2015 Super Bowl prop bets contest: For all the glory!

Join the NN first annual Super Bowl prop bet contest! The top three performers will be showered with glory, and if they are interested, can write something for the front page on a 49ers/NFL topic of their choosing.

Fooch's Update: Results for the individual prop bets.

The 2015 Super Bowl gets going in less than 24 hours, which means you have time to get some last minute wagers in! I'll be putting together some wagers before the game, but I thought it would be fun to put together a contest within the site. It will not be for money, but I figured it would be fun to see who could do best on these various prop bets.

For those that don't know, a prop bet is a chance to wager on a specific event connected to the game. I've included who will win, and whether the score will go over or under, but I also added in prop bets like Tom Brady passing yards, Marshawn Lynch rushing yards, national anthem time, and even Marshawn Lynch crotch grabs.

This is not a simple matter of getting it right or wrong. You get points for your correct predictions, but the points are set based on the odds for the various items. For example, the quarterbacks are always the biggest favorites to win MVP. So, you can play it safe and pick a quarterback for fewer points, or you can roll the dice on a longer shot. Obviously you still have to get it right to get points, but there is some degree of difficulty added. The odds have been figured out, courtesy of Bovada.lv.

The form will close at kickoff, so make sure and get your picks in as soon as you can. After the game wraps, I'll go through and tally up the results to figure out the winner. I'm kind of thinking that maybe top three performers will get a chance to write on whatever 49ers/NFL topic they want on the front page. Basically, instead of a FanPost, you would submit whatever to me, I would put it together in our story editor, and create a byline for you. And if you just want bragging rights for finishing in the top three, that is perfectly fine.

Good luck, and if you have any questions about the bets, let me know in the comments.
