Darnell Dockett tweets about value of dogs in describing Justin Smith, Anquan Boldin and others

Darnell Dockett had an interesting term for certain key contributors around the NFL. He included two 49ers on his list.

Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett is a very outspoken person, and it shines through on his Twitter feed. He talked about a range of topics, sometimes covering issues related to the NFL. On Sunday, he went into one such topic, talking about how teams need a "dog" to have success. A dog is the tough, no-nonsense guy who won't take any crap. It does not always have to be the best player on the field, but you need that kind of guy to have success.

He mentioned Justin Smith and Anquan Boldin as two such examples, and based on how his description of dogs, I don't think anybody should be surprised by that. The 49ers should have Boldin back in the fold in 2015, but there are serious questions about Justin Smith's future. There has been speculation he will retire, but he has not made any kind of announcement thus far. Although Smith has worn with age, having him for another year would be a nice little boon for the next head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
