There have been plenty of jokes about the depth of the San Francisco 49ers coaching search, but apparently the Buffalo Bills are looking to give them a run for their money. ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Bills have requested permission to interview offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Schefter clarified that it was for their vacant HC role. Schefter also said the Bills are looking to interview Pat Shurmur. According to Buffalo Rumblings, 13 names have been connected to the Bills job.
This seems a little confusing, but I guess we should just roll with this. Roman has reportedly interviewed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator position. He is still part of the 49ers coaching staff, although some portion of that group will change once the 49ers have a new head coach in place.
Speaking of the Bills, their owner has been traveling across the country in his private jet. There is a website called FlightAware.com, and they provide tracking information on private planes. Some people discovered the identification information for the Bills private jet, and you can track it HERE. The plane made a very brief stop in San Francisco on Sunday, reportedly landing at SFO at 10:54 a.m., and departing at 2:45 p.m.
Based on some of the other stops the last few days, my guess is it was just a quick stop-over, potentially to fuel up or something. But, maybe they worked in a quick visit with the 49ers for some reason or another. Whatever the case, if they get an interview in with Greg Roman, maybe Flightaware.com will give something away
