I thought it would be nice to send out birthday wishes go out to 49ers great Dwight Clark, as he turns 58 today. There are plenty of big names in 49ers history, but it is important to remember the guy who was a key part of the play that helped the 49ers start their run as the team of the 80s.
Clark is most well known for "The Catch", but it is worth noting that he was the franchise's all-time leader in receiving yards, and No. 2 in receptions when he retired after the 1987 season. He finished his career with 506 receptions for 6,750 yards and 48 touchdowns, as well as a pair of Super Bowl rings.
He was at Levi's Stadium this year, and got this fun shot with his statue in the 49ers Museum:
And of course, we cannot forget this fantastic tweet following the 49ers 24-13 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Happy birthday, Dwight!
