Good morning everyone. Tonight, the San Francisco 49ers will play the New York Giants in a game that I'm sure the NFL hoped would be a lot more relevant than it actually is. I cover the NFL as a whole on gamedays for SB Nation, so I can't pay full attention to the 49ers as often as I'd like (which seems to be a blessing in disguise this year, I suppose) but I don't work Sunday Night Football games.
That means I get to share in all the doom and misery with the rest of ya'll. We'll endure whatever happens tonight, and be stronger (and drunker) for it. Following the game against the Green Bay Packers, I can no longer claim that I've been struck by unexpected optimism, and am instead just curious about what happens going forward. There are a lot more questions than there are answers, even negative answers, and I just really, desperately want to see this team look competitive today.
Onto your links for the day. Go Niners.
