Golden Nuggets: Transactional Tuesday

Carrying a losing record allows teams to reshuffle their roster spots. The offensive line had been performing horribly so the team promoted Andrew Tiller from the practice squad and the line performed much better against the Giants. His performance may have won him a starting position on the line.

There was a couple of moves regarding the team on Tuesday. Tackle Tanner Hawkinson was signed off the practice squad by the Eagles. With that move and the promotion of guard Andrew Tiller, there were 2 practice squad spots vacant. The spots were filled by the team with WR Andrew Turzilli and C Brian Folkerts. Andrew Tiller made quite a difference on Sunday for the Niners. He shared time with Jordan Devey and he performed better than Devey. The offensive line had their best performance as a unit since the season opener.

Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that the Niners may have Vernon Davis available for a trade. Vernon, unfortunately, has not performed well for a couple of years. With the emergence of Garrett Celek and a viable option in Blake Bell, it makes sense that the team is interested in offloading Vernon. His age, salary, and production will make him hard to move.
