49ers-Ravens injury report: Carlos Hyde sits out Wednesday, Vernon Davis practices

The San Francisco 49ers were without Carlos Hyde at practice on Wednesday. Trainers looked at him Sunday, but he returned to the game, so hopefully this is just precautionary.

The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens each released their first practice participation reports of the week, and we have a slightly unexpected inclusion. The 49ers listed Carlos Hyde as a DNP for Wednesday. Jim Tomsula did not mention him during his pre-practice press conference, but he was out with a foot injury. He came off the field briefly this past Sunday and had trainers looking at him, but returned and eventually rushed for a touchdown. We'll keep an eye on his status on Thursday.

Vernon Davis was back at practice, again in limited fashion. He was limited all three days last week, but did not go on Sunday. Vance McDonald started in his place, but Garrett Celek got the bulk of the tight end snaps. Tomsula said he was looking good the last couple days. He said Davis could not quite get the explosion on Friday, which is why he was shut down for the game. Now we get to wait and see if he plays this weekend.
