Well, we're back for another week of San Francisco 49ers football. The 49ers will look to snap their four-game losing streak on Sunday when they face the Baltimore Ravens. The game kicks off at 1:25 p.m. PT at Levi's Stadium, and will be broadcast on CBS. It is primarily a regional broadcast this week.

The 49ers lost four straight last season, and prior to that in 2010. They have shown signs in each of the four losses, but they have had no real consistency. The offense was solid in Week 1, and showed some signs in a blowout loss in Week 2, but then was awful in Weeks 3 and 4, and then looked good in Week 5. The defense was good in Week 1, awful in Weeks 2 and 3, solid in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers, and then awful in Week 5. There is just a whole lot of inconsistency.
The Ravens come into the game also at 1-4, but in a slightly different state. Their four losses have come by a combined 17 points. They have shown a strong passing game at times, and a strong running game other times. With Steve Smith likely back on the field this weekend, it will be interesting to see how they balance the passing game with Justin Forsett and the ground game. On the other side of the ball, their secondary has been awful. Injuries have been a problem, and they just signed former brief 49ers cornerback Shareece Wright. That's saying something.
It is hard to predict what exactly will happen in this game. We could see the 49ers offense put together a second straight strong effort, or we could see them revert to the Week 3 and 4 form. The defense could rebound, or it could get shredded by another quality quarterback. My guess is we end up seeing a bit of a shootout. I don't think we see a defensive struggle.
