The San Francisco 49ers gutted out a tough one in Week 6, escaping with a 25-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens. The 49ers took a 25-13 lead in the fourth quarter, and looked ready to put this thing away. They slowed in the fourth quarter, but thankfully the Ravens were worse.
That is not the most optimistic of sentences, but that's what this game felt like. The 49ers did some really good things, but there were still plenty of problems. And beating the now 1-5 Ravens in close fashion is not exactly spectacular. But hey, a win is a win is a win. If you're rooting for draft prospects, this is a stinker for you. If you think this team can turn things around, an ugly win is still a win. Take it however you want.
The player of the game has to be Ravens cornerback Shareece Wright. The one-time 49ers cornerback gave up the 49ers two touchdowns in ugly fashion. He was burned deep by Torrey Smith, and then fell down on a Quinton Patton touchdown. Whatever it takes right?
The 49ers looked pretty at times, but boy did they look ugly at times. I enjoy wins, but this team has a lot of film to improve upon. They face the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. The Seahawks are coming off a brutal last second loss to the Carolina Panthers. Suddenly, this TNF game is a battle of the two teams at the bottom of the NFC West. Who knew?!
