2016 NFL Draft order: 49ers slip five spots

The close of Week 6 means we have an updated look at the 2016 NFL Draft order. The 49ers slipped with the victory, but it is early enough that plenty can change in the coming weeks.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, and with that win, they slip a little in the 2016 NFL Draft order. If you think they can still turn this season around, this is of no concern to you. If you do not think they can still turn the season around, this is rather notable. The win, combined with various other losses has dropped them from No. 7 to No. 12.

Scott Carasik puts together a rundown of the draft order after each set of games, and the most recent I find is from after Sunday Night Football. I have dropped it down below. The Philadelphia Eagles win over the New York Giants will primarily impact the bottom half of the draft order. It will impact strength of schedule, but the one Giants loss should not be enough to improve the 49ers from No. 12.

Amusingly enough, the Seattle Seahawks are currently No. 11, a spot ahead of the 49ers due to SOS. The worse a team's SOS, the better the draft position since if you are losing to worse teams, you are in fact "worse", so to speak. SOS is going to change quite a bit as the season moves on, but we'll update our weekly Sunday viewing guide to root against teams that impact the 49ers SOS.
