It's game time! The San Francisco 49ers are back home to face the Seattle Seahawks in a Week 7 matchup of 2-4 teams. The Thursday Night Football game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. PT, and will air on CBS, led by a crew of Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and Tracy Wolfson.
The 49ers-Seahawks rivalry has taken a hit since the 49ers slide started last season. The departure of Jim Harbaugh and numerous veterans only exacerbates the decline of what was briefly the best rivalry in football. This year, both teams are struggling, albeit for different reasons. The 49ers had significant turnover, and are plugging in younger players at a lot of positions, all while figuring out a new coaching staff. The Seahawks returned a lot of their talent, but their offensive line got worse in the Max Unger-Jimmy Graham trade, and their defense got worse with the departure of Byron Maxwell. And now we see a TNF matchup that could be a low scoring, slug-it-out affair. This will certainly be something.
We'll have a few threads throughout the course of the game, and a recap immediately after. One thing I have added to the threads this year is the 49ers media Twitter list. If you cannot watch the game, you can follow some of the updates in there/ We'll have plenty to break down after the game, but for now, here's your first quarter game thread. Along with it is a rundown of pertinent information related to the game.
