Well, that was about an ugly a game as we could have expected, right? Despite sacking Russell Wilson five times and snagging two interceptions off of him, the San Francisco 49ers still lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 20-3. More than that, Colin Kaepernick regressed big time and was sacked six times. It was a hideously ugly game and I can find fault with just about every aspect of the offense outside of Carlos Hyde.
Vernon Davis was the bright spot on offense. Vernon Davis! That's depressing at this stage of the game. When Kaepernick wasn't completely lost, the 49ers receivers were still halfway through their way-too-long-to-develop routes and when they weren't, the offensive line was crumbling. I don't understand why they kept playing him out of the shotgun as well, given the fact that he looked a lot better under center.
Let's not even spend much time talking about how poor the execution was on the defensive side of the ball. I can't even find a good reason to blame Eric Mangini and that's almost impressively bad. Onto your links, I suppose.
