Week 7 of the 2015 NFL season wraps up on Monday evening as the Arizona Cardinals host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. PT, and airs on ESPN. Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico have the call.
The Cardinals enter the game 4-2, with a one-game lead on the St. Louis Rams in the NFC West. The Cardinals won their first three games, but have since dropped two of three. They somehow managed to lose last week in Pittsburgh to the quarterback duo of Landry Jones and Michael Vick. They looked good early, but with losses at the Steelers and at home to the Rams, I'm not entirely sure what to make of them.
The Ravens lost to the 49ers last week. They staged a modest comeback, but came up short in the 25-20 loss. Given what we continue to learn about the 49ers, that is a pretty ugly loss for Baltimore. Prior to that game, I thought maybe they could build on their various close losses. It turns out, while they might be mediocre enough to hang around with teams, they're not a good football team.
The Cardinals opened as touchdown favorites, but that line has since climbed. Most sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark have the Cardinals at -9 or -9.5, but you can get up to 10 at one. I have the Cardinals at -7.5 in my SuperContest picks. The Cardinals are clearly the better team, but would anybody be surprised if the Ravens hung close in this game? I'd prefer to see a Cardinals blowout, but I have a hunch this one ends up much closer than expected.
