Week 8 is officially a wrap following the Arizona Cardinals grinding win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead, but their offense slowed considerably. They got a huge break on Chris Johnson's long run. His forward progress appeared stopped, but the officials gave him credit on the run. The Cardinals remain a question mark after this game. They got the key win, and their defense is still doing good things, but I'm just not entirely sure what to make of them.
Our San Francisco 49ers were pushing towards mediocrity with their win over the Ravens, but their loss to the Seattle Seahawks proves they're just not very good. They 2-5 squads are quite the mix of mediocrity. I could probably justify moving the 49ers lower, but I do think they could beat that list of teams below them. And they'll get a chance to prove it with quite a few of them. The 49ers have games against the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions later this season. It could prove huge in the battle for draft positioning.
The top of the rankings remain the same. I have the New York Jets as the top team with at least one loss. That defense is looking good. They face the Oakland Raiders this week in a game that has pretty huge early playoff implications. How many people expected that to be the case?
I've left the Steelers fairly high up in spite of their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs because they are expecting Ben Roethlisberger back this week. That is a huge return for them, and should be a big boost for that offense.
