The Golden State Warriors kicked off their 2015-16 campaign on Tuesday evening, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 111-95. The defending MVP, Steph Curry dominated once again, scoring 40 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
The defending NBA champions had their ring ceremony prior to the game, and the ring they handed out is certainly something. It features the Bay Bridge, and is pretty huge. Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver and current local sports reporter Mike Shumann was on hand for the event. Shumann was part of the 49ers 1981 championship team, and he compared his Super Bowl ring with the Warriors ring.
Shumann posted the following picture, with Warriors GM Bob Myers trying on his ring to compare the size. Both are impressive, but that Warriors ring is a whole lot of something!
