The San Francisco 49ers get what I suppose could be a minor boost for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers announced on Saturday that wide receiver Davante Adams and strong safety Morgan Burnett have been downgraded from questionable to doubtful.
Adams is dealing with an ankle injury that cost him most of Week 3 Monday Night Football. He injured it in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, but made it through practice. He aggravated the injury early against the Kansas City Chiefs, and did not return to the game. He sat out all three practices this week, so this is not a surprising development. It opens the door for rookie Ty Montgomery to get more work alongside Randall Cobb and James Jones.
Burnett had suffered his calf muscle earlier in the year, but played through it. He did not play last week, and got in limited practice work this week. Micah Hyde will remain in the starting lineup in Burnett's absence.
