This qualifies as one of the least surprising comments ever. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin is on the injury report with a hamstring injury, having been limited on Thursday, and sitting out Friday's session. He suffered the injury two weeks ago against the Baltimore Ravens, but played a week ago Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Whatever the state of Boldin's hamstring, it would be a surprise to not see him out there. This is a guy who suffered several facial fractures and a broken jaw in 2008, and was back on the field four weeks later following two missed games and a bye week. He is a tough dude, maybe the toughest skill position player in the NFL. It is not surprising he expects to play on Sunday.
One thing that will be worth tracking is his snap count. He played the same number of snaps as Torrey Smith last week, and was targeted seven times, finishing with three receptions for 39 yards. I suspect we see him plenty active again, but will Jerome Simpson be active and getting action? Will Quinton Patton get more work again? Will Bruce Ellington get more than two snaps? Boldin's hamstring strain provides some opportunities to mix it up a bit, but we'll see if the coaching staff actually takes advantage of that.
