Good morning and happy Halloween everyone. Hope you guys have costume's bought or at least a good evening planned! I love Halloween, but I find it harder and harder to get a costume together, let alone get out for the evening however, I threw together a costume to be Reno of the Turks (from Final Fantasy VII), just in case. I love Halloween in any case, right now as I do the nuggets I have songs from The Misfits, AFI, Tiger Army and The Cure's Pornography album playing. Once I finish this, I'm watching either Gremlins or The Exorcist.
Pat's thought opinion of the week
If you think the Kaepernick locker room drama is eerily similar to last year's Jim Harbaugh leaks, it's not. This is very, very different. Last year, details came very slowly (aside from the Cleveland Browns trade, which I think is bogus). This year, we received not only details on what is happening, but on who it's from. Anonymous sources can be annoying, but this has a lot of context and is far more credible than "Someone in the 49ers organization". Last year, analysts would weigh in just saying "Locker room is toxic" or "Harbaugh lost the locker room".
"Ok," I'd say. "Why? How?"
This year, we're getting more and more details a lot more sooner. We get a who's who in the Kaepernick scuffle, we get more details on the sources (a former 49ers offensive staff member under Harbaugh helped break the news on Niners Nation for instance not just someone in the organization). There's a lot more context on what's going on behind closed doors that I can tell there is a serious problem in 49ers-land, not the front office feeding info to reporters. In my opinion, it seemed like concrete details came much, much later last year. This is showing me exactly what's going on, not telling me, which means only one thing: it's bad. I don't think Colin Kaepernick is that bad of a quarterback, but I do think at this point, a fresh start for him may be in order. Unless the 49ers somehow go on a crazy winning streak.
