49ers to waive Nick Easton, per Adam Caplan

The San Francisco 49ers are making a change to the reserves of their offensive line. Could Nick Easton's apparent departure open the door for Andrew Tiller?

Fooch's update: Or, he'll be traded

Well, so much for one option at center. ESPN's Adam Caplan is reporting the San Francisco 49ers are set to waive center Nick Easton. The team acquired him from the Baltimore Ravens shortly before the season began for what I believe is still an undisclosed draft pick. I just saw Eric Branch reference it as a conditional seventh round pick.

Easton was exclusively a center, with Jim Tomsula himself confirming this on multiple occasions. Easton was active the last two weeks, but did not play in either game. Marcus Martin has struggled at center, and the team is still waiting for Daniel Kilgore to return from the PUP list. He cannot re-join the roster until after Week 6.

On Monday, Jim Tomsula was asked if there would be any changes to the offensive line. He said he would not say that in the media, but that evaluations were happening. Easton's departure means another player will be active on Sundays, but it also opens the door for a player to be added to the roster. Could we see Andrew Tiller get a shot?
