Welcome back for Jim Tomsula's Wednesday press conference. The 49ers have begun preparations for their Week 5 contest at the New York Giants, and they return to on-field practice Wednesday. Tomsula will speak to the media at 10:30 a.m. PT. Colin Kaepernick and special teams coach Thomas McGaughey will address the media at 11:45.

I don't expect a whole lot of much out of today's press conferences. But maybe they'll surprise us, right? We should get some info on new linebacker Gerald Hodges. Maybe a better idea of what he is competing for now that he is in town. Quinton Patton is going through the concussion protocol, but his process through that will likely be better known after today's practice. The 49ers offensive line is a huge question mark, but there has been no word on any potential changes to the group.
