Prior to the season, amid all the doom talk, I suggested that the San Francisco 49ers will actually be fine when it's all said and done. I'm seriously doubting that prediction at this stage, and the news of Joe Staley missing another practice and Ahmad Brooks set to miss the game (and legitimately: condolences to him and his family) coming up certainly isn't helping things.
The 49ers are just a mess on so many fronts. The struggles of quarterback Colin Kaepernick is obviously the most important factor here, but really very few players are actually playing well. Safety Eric Reid is particularly bad, and that's concerning, and I just don't see more than a handful of silver linings and that's simply not good enough for this team. I want Jim Tomsula to succeed as much as the next guy but this is an ugly, ugly look for him in his first year.
Hopefully it gets better from here, but I'm not optimistic (imagine that). Onto your links for the day, folks.
