49ers-Seahawks spread: Look-ahead line has 49ers as high as +11.5

We've got a look at the look-ahead line for the San Francisco 49ers Week 11 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers are on their bye this week, which means we have no gambling line (bye would probably open as a field goal favorite!). However, with the 49ers set to face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11, there is a look-ahead line. Normally lines are set the Sunday or Monday before a given game, depending on when those two teams played. However, there are also look-ahead lines meant to give us an idea what oddsmakers are thinking for a given game.

I asked around and was able to get a couple look-ahead lines for the 49ers Week 11 game up in Seattle. Our friends at Bovada.lv have the Seahawks as an 11.5-point favorite. The Westgate has the Seahawks as an 11-point favorite (courtesy of Todd Fuhrman). The official lines will open this Sunday after the Seahawks Sunday Night Football contest against the Arizona Cardinals.

Just under a month ago, we had the last look-ahead line for this game. On October 15, the 49ers were viewed as a 13-point underdog for this game. Since then, the 49ers beat the Ravens, lost to the Seahawks and Rams, benched Colin Kaepernick, and beat the Falcons. The Seahawks lost at home to Carolina, and then won road games against the 49ers and Cowboys. I can see why the line came down a little, particularly with Blaine Gabbert's competent performance.

If the line is near this when next week rolls around, I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. Dating back to 2012, when Russell Wilson joined the Seahawks, San Francisco is 0-4 SU and ATS in Seattle. Those four losses were 17-7, 23-17, 29-3, and 42-13. The Seahawks are tempting if the line is at 11 or 12, but this Seahawks team is not as good as the recent versions. The defense is good, but not as great as it once was. Marshawn Lynch is still a beast, but that offensive line might be as bad as it has been the last four years.
