Carlos Hyde, Anquan Boldin, Tramaine Brock to join 49ers practice on Wednesday, statuses still in question

The San Francisco 49ers will provide their first practice participation report of the week on Wednesday, and we could see a notable change. Jim Tomsula met with the media on Wednesday and said running back Carlos Hyde, wide receiver Anquan Boldin and cornerback Tramaine Brock will all join the team on the practice field. He said they would "be out there, will be going", and the staff will "see where they're at."

Tomsula was asked specifically about the plan with Hyde this week. He said Hyde will warm up and do individual work before returning for some team work. He would not confirm that Shaun Draughn will get starter reps. More than likely, Hyde will be listed as limited on the injury report. This does not provide any further confirmation about Hyde's status for Sunday, but it is obviously an improvement in where he's at.

Shaun Draughn got the start last week, and ended up the clear starter for the game. He did not have a great performance, but it was the best performance of his NFL career. The 49ers offense faces a stiffer test this week against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks defense is not as good as in the past, but it is still a notable test for the 49ers transitioning ground game. My guess is Hyde does not play this week, but we probably won't find out for certain until inactives are announced on Sunday.
