Glenn Dorsey injures leg, Arik Armstead could get extra work

The San Francisco 49ers defense suffered a tough injury on the unit's first play of their Week 11 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Glenn Dorsey went down with limited contact, as his right knee buckled. A cart has been brought out to take him back to the locker room for further examination. The team announced he is questionable to return with a knee injury. Fooch's update: The team has declared him OUT for the rest of the game.

His departure likely means more opportunities for Arik Armstead. He has been primarily a limited nickel substitution, but the 49ers are already starting to work him into their base 3-4 defense. Tony Jerod-Eddie and Mike Purcell will get additional work, but Armstead is likely going to have a career high in snaps this game.

Normally Tank Carradine would be in the mix as well, but he is inactive. The 49ers have him losing weight to become more of an edge rusher. He got zero snaps the week before the bye, and now is out entirely. It makes sense given that he is losing weight, but the 49ers will be a little bit short-handed following Dorsey's injury.
