Different year, different head coach, different coaching staff, different QB and a different team, but the result remains the same in Seattle. The 49ers lost to the Seahawks 29-13. In the game, the defense allowed Russell Wilson to go for 260 passing yards and allowed backup RB Thomas Rawls to run for 209 yards.

Blaine Gabbert, in his 2nd consecutive start, played fairly well. He was able to throw for 264 yards with a touchdown to Vance McDonald. Vance and Anquan had big games. The offensive line protected well. They only gave up 2 sacks. Andrew Tiller seems to have made a difference. Unfortunately, the line wasn't able to help the run game. The rushing game was non-existent. They had 59 total rushing yards against the Seahawks, which will not get it done.

The defense did not show up on Sunday. They gave up 508 total yards. Backup Rawls tore up the rush defense. The defense had apparently not prepared to face Rawls with Marshawn Lynch ruled out. The 255 total rushing yards given up by the team are the most given up by a Niners team since 1978. They also were torn open by Wilson in the passing game. Russell only had 5 incompletions and threw 3 touchdowns, 2 going to speedster Tyler Lockett.
