The San Francisco 49ers face the Arizona Cardinals this week, and are a double digit home underdog for the first time since 2006. They will be underdogs much of the rest of the season, and will be noticeably so next week against the Chicago Bears. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook released some preliminary lines for Week 13, and they have the 49ers as touchdown underdogs to the Bears.
One thing that is interesting to note is the payout on this right now is listed at Even. Normally, both sides are -110, which means you bet $110 to win $100. Even means you bet $100 to win $100. That leaves the door slightly open to the public wanting to bet on a 49ers cover over a Bears cover.
Of course, the line will change in the coming days. The Bears travel to face the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. If the Bears win or at least lose by a modest margin, that touchdown line, and the even bet option probably will change. If the 49ers are competitive against the Cardinals, maybe it does not change that much. If the 49ers are blown out by the Cardinals, it could move close to double digits.
