Will 49ers or Warriors lose more games this season?

The Golden State Warriors improved to 16-0 this season, rolling the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday evening. The 16th straight win to open the season set an NBA record, and with one more win, the Warriors will be over halfway to the NBA record for consecutive wins in a season (33). Coming off last year's championship, this team is looking even better, and playing with even more swagger than last year's team.

Down the road in Santa Clara, the San Francisco 49ers are pretty much the exact opposite of the Warriors. They are 3-7, and looking at their first double digit loss season since 2010. They host the Arizona Cardinals later this weekend, and are a double digit underdog at home for the first time since 2006. The 49ers are not good.

In light of the Warriors win Tuesday evening, I chatted with our friends at OddsShark about creating a prop bet. I asked them what odds they would set for whether or not the 49ers or Warriors would LOSE more regular season games this season. The 49ers only have 16 games on their schedule, and likely will finish 6-10 or worse. The Warriors play 82 games, and currently are 16-0. They will not go 82-0 (I don't think!), but they have a very real chance of challenging the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins and only 10 losses. The Warriors could lose their next two games and still be on pace for a 73-9 record.

OddsShark worked with Bovada to provide a prop bet on which team would finish with more regular season losses. They installed the Warriors as a fairly sizable favorite at -300. The 49ers are listed at +200. I am really tempted to take the 49ers in this wager. A single losing streak could sink it for the Warriors, but they're playing some ridiculously good basketball right now. The 49ers have teams like the Browns and Lions on the schedule, but those are not sure-thing wins. I think we see the 49ers finish 6-10 or 5-11, but even worse than that is not out of the realm of the possible. Who would you take?

You can bet here. It is the second prop bet on the list.
