49ers-Cardinals inactives: Ahmad Brooks sidelined due to concussion

The San Francisco 49ers will be without linebacker Ahmad Brooks, as he is inactive following a week in the concussion protocol. We break down what it means.

The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals released their inactive reports for Week 12, and we have one modest surprise. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks has been declared inactive, as it would appear he has not fully recovered from his Week 11 concussion. He was a DNP in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and then limited on Friday while wearing the non-contact jersey. This deactivation would indicate he had some concussion symptoms yesterday or today.

Tank Carradine is active this week, and given the discussion of moving him into more of an edge rusher role, he could get some opportunities in the 49ers nickel defense. Corey Lemonier will start opposite Aaron Lynch in the 3-4 base, but Tank might get opportunities in passing downs, alongside Eli Harold.

49ers inactives: WR DeAndrew White, RB Carlos Hyde, CB Chris Davis, LB Ray-Ray Armstrong, LB Ahmad Brooks, OG Brandon Thomas, OL Ian Silberman

Cardinals inactives: QB Matt Barkley, LB Shaq Riddick, OG Jonathan Cooper, OT D.J. Humphries, DT Cory Redding, DT Ed Stinson, DT Frostee Rucker
