The San Francisco 49ers announced four transactions Tuesday afternoon. The team announced the signing of RB Pierre Thomas to the 53-man roster and CB Chris Davis to the practice squad. They have officially moved Reggie Bush to injured reserve, and Kaleb Ramsey has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.
There is no word yet on what Ramsey tested positive for, but it was enough to pop positive, and his future with the team seems a bit in doubt. The team could just sign him back to the practice squad after four games, but a PED positive is not exactly ideal for engendering excitement with the team.
The rest of the moves were all known, but are now official. The 49ers do not have a specific decision in place with regard to rookie Mike Davis. He fractured his hand and had surgery on Tuesday. It sounds like his status will be better known once surgery is finished. A fracture requiring surgery could cost him the rest of the season, but Jim Tomsula will hopefully have more information about that at his Wednesday press conference.
