Th St. Louis Rams are dealing with a variety of injury issues. Nick Foles was benched due to ineffectiveness, and was replaced by Case Keenum. Unfortunately for the Rams, Keenum suffered a concussion, and the team had to go back to Foles this past week. He was not good, and the Rams were pummeled by the Cincinnati Bengals.
The good news for the Rams is that Keenum was a limited participant in practice, so he could very well be back this week. But if he continues to have concussion symptoms, there is one person who might like an opportunity if needed. It's old friend, Jeff Garcia!
The Rams hired Garcia as an offensive assistant this offseason, primarily working with wide receivers. Garcia remains in good shape, and Jeff Fisher even joked in an October conference call with 49ers reporters that Garcia could still play. And it appears maybe Garcia took those comments slightly serious. In a tweet that has since been deleted, the former 49ers quarterback had this to say (h/t Turf Show Times):
I imagine the Rams would not be looking to activate Garcia anytime soon, but I have to admit, it would be kind of entertaining seeing Garcia suit up for the Rams Week 17 finale at Levi's Stadium. In a battle that will impact draft positioning, why not roll out Garcia one more time?
