Golden Nuggets: Montana Endorses Gabbert

The upcoming matchup between the 49ers and Browns has become more intriguing knowing that Johnny Manziel will be facing Blaine Gabbert as each teams QBs. As controversial as the quarterback situation has been in San Francisco this season, with the demotion of one-time franchise QB Colin Kaepernick, the QB position in Cleveland is wrought with even more issues. Josh McCown, Austin Davis, and Manziel have all been part of the roulette of passers and now the spinning wheel has reluctantly stopped on Johnny Football's number again.

On the other side, Blaine Gabbert didn't take long to seize the reins fully after Kap was sat down, then later, officially declared out for the season. Blaine has studied, practiced, and eventually executed on the field, placing himself in the best position to continue as the #1 option at quarterback, not only to close the season, but most likely to start next season too. Even hall of famer Joe Montana has agreed that the team needs to keep Blaine on the roster and those are words you don't take lightly. So whether Colin sticks around or the 49ers draft a new QB prospect, Gabbert will still have a legitimate shot at being the full time starter next season.
