2016 NFL Draft order: 49ers climb, in position for top five pick

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers embarrassed themselves on Sunday, losing 24-10 to the Cleveland Browns. The loss dropped them to 4-9 on the season, and the one upside is the team improved its draft position. They entered the game tied with the St. Louis Rams in the ninth and tenth positions, and the depart the day in the sixth position. Four teams are now tied at 4-9, with three teams ahead of them at 3-10.

1. Tennessee Titans (3-10) - .498
2. San Diego Chargers (3-10) - .527
3. Cleveland Browns (3-10) - .529
4. Baltimore Ravens (4-9) - .517
5. Detroit Lions (4-9) - .529
6. San Francisco 49ers (4-9) - .531
7. Dallas Cowboys (4-9) - .541
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-8) - .469
9. New Orleans Saints (5-8) - .512
10. Chicago Bears (5-8) - .524
11. St. Louis Rams (5-8) - .524

As we look ahead to Week 15, there are not a ton of opportunities for significant movement. The 49ers host the Cincinnati Bengals. A.J. McCarron will be starting at quarterback, so this changes the complexion of the game. What was a touchdown spread now has the Bengals favored by four following news that Andy Dalton will not play next Sunday. The 49ers defense has been solid at home, so this becomes a winnable game. But if the 49ers do lose it, here are the teams ahead of them and tied with them that will be worth watching in Week 15.

Jets (8-5) @ Cowboys (4-9)
Titans (3-10) @ Patriots (10-2)
Chiefs (8-5) @ Ravens (4-9)
Browns (3-10) @ Seahawks 8-5)
Dolphins (5-7) @ Chargers (3-10)
Lions (4-9) @ Saints (5-8)
