49ers worked out CFL wide receiver Eric Rogers

The San Francisco 49ers season is slowly coming to a close, but the search for personnel never ends. Eric Branch is reporting the team hosted CFL wide receiver Eric Rogers for a workout on Monday. The Calgary Sun is reporting Rogers has visits planned with 11 teams, and has already met with the New England Patriots.

Rogers had a huge year for the Calgary Stampeders this past season. He finished the season with a league-leading 1,448 yards, fourth with 87 receptions, and tied for the league lead with 10 receiving touchdowns. Rogers spent a brief amount of time in the NFL, signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of California Lutheran in 2013. He played for the Portland Thunder of the Arena Football League, and then spent two seasons with the Stampeders.

Our friends at Cat Scratch Reader had a scouting report on Rogers back in 2013. They suggested weaknesses with route running, strength, and top-end speed. Strengths included making catches in traffic, solid blocking, and a large catch radius. Here are a few videos of Rogers.
