I'm glad that center Daniel Kilgore will get the start at the position going forward, though it's a shame it's coming at the expense of Alex Boone getting injured and not the team being smart enough to start Kilgore over Marcus Martin. I'm not sure why they are so slow to make decisions, but it sure is frustrating.
I don't know if this is the last we've seen of Boone, but it's become clear to me that Martin doesn't have much to offer at this point and it would be a huge, huge problem if he ends up starting at one of the guard spots full time next season, unless he is substantially better as a guard than he is at center. Really, I just want to see Kilgore play well so the 49ers can have a good idea of whether or not the center position is something they need to address in the offseason.
Also, those Thursday Night Football Color Rush uniforms were hideous, once again. I hope we never, ever see the 49ers in them. All gold would fail and all red is boring. Maybe the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders can play in a Color Rush game some day.
