49ers-Bears injury report: Ahmad Brooks clears concussion protocol

The San Francisco 49ers have a pretty sizable injury report. Some good news to come out of it is the return of Ahmad Brooks. We break down what that means, as well as Arik Armstead's current status.

The San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears returned to practice on Wednesday, and the 49ers got some good news. Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks has cleared the concussion protocol. He remains on the injury report with a toe injury, but did practice in a limited capacity. His return will be something to track given that Corey Lemonier and Eli Harold did some solid work in his absence last week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Arik Armstead remains on the injury report with his shoulder injury. The 49ers only used him in dime and short yardage situations in Week 12, with Jim Tomsula saying it was due to the shoulder. Mike Purcell got the start in his place, and my guess is he starts again this weekend against Chicago.
