NFL Draft order 2016: 49ers latest position awaits results of Monday Night Football

The San Francisco 49ers have moved up slightly, but could return to their Sunday position depending on what happens on Week 15 Monday Night Football. We break it down.

Fooch's update: The Cardinals win over the Eagles improved the 49ers SOS to .547, and dropped the Cowboys SOS to .543, which means the 49ers are in the No. 6 position. If the Lions lose on Monday Night Football, the 49ers and Cowboys will be tied in SOS. If the Lions win on Monday Night Football, the 49ers SOS will be .549, and the Cowboys will be .540.

The San Francisco 49ers lost again on Sunday, dropping to 4-10 with their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Their position in the 2016 NFL Draft has changed a little bit, but the final results for Week 15 will depend on how Monday Night Football shakes out. The 49ers are currently No. 5 in draft order. They will move to No. 6 with a Detroit Lions MNF loss, or remain No. 5 with a Lions win. Here is how the draft order currently shapes up:

1. Tennessee Titans (3-11) - .489
2. Cleveland Browns (3-11) - .534
3. San Diego Chargers (4-10) - .516
4. Baltimore Ravens (4-10) - .516
5. San Francisco 49ers (4-10) - .543
6. Dallas Cowboys (4-10) - .548
7. Detroit Lions (4-9) - .534
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-9) - .466
9. Miami Dolphins (5-9) - .475
10. Chicago Bears (5-9) - .534
11. New Orleans Saints (5-8) - .511

The big news of the day was the San Diego Chargers beating the Miami Dolphins. That bumped them up to 4-10, which ties them with the 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and Dallas Cowboys. The Chargers and Ravens are well ahead of the 49ers and Cowboys in strength of schedule, so any additional wins they can get will be a big boost for the 49ers.

The 49ers travel east to face the Detroit Lions in Week 16, marking their final road game of the season. They have not been good on the road, but the Lions are a very inconsistent team themselves. I could see this one going like the Bears game, ugly for most of it, and a chance for the 49ers to steal a victory late. Or Matt Stafford and that offense put a hurting on them. I really have no idea.

Here is an early looks at the Week 15 schedule, at least as far as notable games for the 49ers are concerned:

Chargers (4-10) @ Raiders (6-8)
Texans (7-7) @ Titans (3-11)
Browns (3-11) @ Chiefs (9-5)
Colts (6-8) @ Dolphins (5-9)
Cowboys (4-10) @ Bills (6-8)
Bears (5-9) @ Buccaneers (6-8)
Steelers (9-5) @ Ravens (4-10)
Jaguars (5-9) @ Saints (5-8)
