Even after the terrible game the Niners played on Sunday in losing 24-14 to the Cincinnati Bengals, it looks like Jim Tomsula will return as the Niners head coach next season. COO Al Guido spoke with sideline reporter Jay Feely and apparently inferred that Jim will be safe and will be leading the team in 2016.

The offense continued their struggles. They only scored 14 points and they didn't get on the board until late in the 3rd quarter. They only converted 2 out of 14 3rd downs after missing the 1st 12 in a row. Vance McDonald and Anquan Boldin had turnovers that Cincinnati capitalized on for touchdowns. Shaun Draughn was added to the list of running back injuries in the 2nd quarter and Travaris Cadet took over for the rest of the game.

The defense played well after a bad week in Cleveland the week before. They allowed only 68 rushing yards and 174 yards passing. They seem to able to play well at home, but can't on the road. Going along with the up and down defense is the play of NaVorro Bowman. He played well on Sunday resulting in 12 tackles that led the team. He is trying to take the leadership role left open by Patrick Willis and Justin Smith.
