In what has been a mostly forgettable season under new coach Jim Tomsula, the 49ers have had more lowlights this year than highlights. The few things left to watch out for are the game snaps of the younger players and how they fare with them. One of those players is Jarryd Hayne, and after being stuck on the practice squad for most of the season, he finally got into some game action. Along with recent FA pick up DuJuan Harris, Hayne made the 49ers running game interesting again for exactly one half.
That is until the Detroit defense was able to adjust and the offense was shut down the rest of the day. Still it was nice to see Hayne break off some nice interior runs and even make 5 receptions for 20 yards. With enough snaps, it still looks like Jarryd has enough talent to be an asset just like Shaun Draughn was while he was healthy. I'm hoping Hayne gets more snaps in the last game and sticks with the team for next season. It's made this terrible season a bit more interesting.
