Bowl game schedule 12/29: TV schedule, game time, live stream, draft prospects

New, comments

Niners Nation's Jake Narayan breaks down the bowl games for, December 28th.

We are back again for more bowl mania. Today we take a look at the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl, Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl, and the Russell Athletic Bowl. I will provide TV schedule, game time, live stream information, and a list of draft prospects playing in the bowl games. Enjoy!

North Carolina vs. Baylor
Game Time: 2:30 p.m. PT
Channel: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN

North Carolina's journey started with a loss to South Carolina, and it was again looking like the Tar Heels were bound to another disappointing season. However, it was nowhere near a grind-it-out season, as the Tar Heels won 11 straight games. UNC then played Clemson in the ACC Championship game, but were cheated a chance to tie the game after another referee blunder. Nonetheless, North Carolina will have another chance to prove their greatness in an intriguing matchup against the Bears.

NORTH CAROLINA DRAFT PROSPECTS:

  • #8 T.J. Logan, RB, 5'10", 190 lbs.
  • #4 Ryan Switzer, WR, 5'10", 185 lbs.
  • #2 Des Lawrence, CB, 6'1", 185 lbs.
  • #42 Shakeel Rashad, LB, 6'2", 235 lbs. - leads UNC in tackles (92).
  • #44 Junior Gnonkonde, DE, 6'4", 260 lbs.
  • #78 Landon Turner, G, 6'3", 325 lbs.

Baylor hovered around the top 4 most of the year. Quarterbacks Seth Russell, Jarett Stidham, and third string Chris Johnson all had injuries, causing them to miss time or the entire season. The woes continue as the best slot receiver in the country Corey Coleman will be out for the bowl game, as will running back Shock Linwood. Despite being hobbled, the Bears are still dangerous and always find ways to light up the scoreboard.

BAYLOR DRAFT PROSPECTS:

  • #1 Corey Coleman, WR, 5'11", 190 lbs.
  • #58 Spencer Drango, OT, 6'6", 320 lbs.

Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl
Nevada vs. Colorado State
Game Time: 4:30 p.m. PT
Channel: American Sports Network and various local channels
Live Stream: ASN

Nevada players are reportedly upset about playing Colorado State, two teams from the Mountain West having to play one another. Nevada runs a similar offense to CSU, operating zone running schemes which involves the use of multiple running backs. A victory would result in the fourth 7-6 season in the past five seasons, while a loss result in the second losing campaign in three seasons.

NEVADA DRAFT PROSPECTS:

  • #8 Ian Seau, DE, 6'3", 250 lbs.

As afore mentioned, Colorado State runs a very similar offense to the one of Nevada. The balanced attack of both teams should result in an extremely close game. CSU is its first year under head coach Mike Bobo, and he led them to an above .500 season.

CSU DRAFT PROSPECTS

  • #82 Rashard Higgins, WR, 6'2", 190 lbs.

Advocare V100 Texas Bowl
LSU vs. Texas Tech
Game Time: 6:00 p.m. PT
Channel: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN

LSU won 7 straight to start the season, led by the dominance of breakout star, Leonard Fournette. Despite Les Miles being on one of the worst slumps in his tenure, we may be on tap for high-scoring matchup against a crippled Texas Tech defense. The Tigers have an enormous amount of talented draft prospects, let's take a look at them;

LSU DRAFT PROSPECTS:

  • #65 Jerald Hawkins, T, 6'6", 305 lbs.
  • #18 Tre'Davious White, CB, 5'11", 191 lbs.
  • #74 Vadal Alexander, G, 6'6", 330 lbs.
  • #28 Jalen Mills, FS, 6'0", 195 lbs.
  • #52 Kendell Beckwith, LB, 6'2", 250 lbs.

The Red Raiders are giving up 271.8 yards per game on the ground, third worst nationally. Leonard Fournette has to be licking his chops. However, Texas Tech makes up for the atrocious defense by simply out scoring their opponents. The team averages 46.6 points per game, along with 594.4 yards per contest. This will be a fun one to watch.

TEXAS TECH DRAFT PROSPECTS:

  • #11 Jakeem Grant, WR, 5'7", 168 lbs.
  • #18 Micah Awe, LB, 6'0", 221 lbs.
