49ers-Bears final score: Blaine Gabbert to Torrey Smith wins it in overtime

Wow.

You gotta be kidding me! The San Francisco 49ers won a wild one at Soldier Field, defeating the Chicago Bears by a final score of 26-20 in overtime. Blaine Gabbert connected with Torrey Smith on a 71-yard touchdown to send 49ers fans home happy. And even if you wanted to see the improved draft position, it was a pretty fun ending nonetheless.

This was the first road win of the season for the 49ers, and Blaine Gabbert's first outdoor road win. The game was ugly for a while, with neither team seemingly interested in winning. And then the latter half of the fourth quarter happened. The Bears scored a touchdown, and then the 49ers bounced back with a Blaine Gabbert 44-yard scramble. The Bears set up a last second field goal attempt and missed it, forcing overtime. I was convinced we were going to see the game end in a tie, and then this happened.

We'll have plenty more, but for now, wow. The 49ers are back on the road next week to face the Cleveland Browns. The look-ahead line had the Browns as a field goal favorite, but that should change. The 49ers got a big road win, while the Browns were pummeled 37-3 by the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are much better than the Bears, but it is very clear the Browns are a mess. I could see this coming down to maybe a point.
