San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was at Saturday's NFL Honors program, and the pre-show red carpet provided him a chance to conduct some interviews. CSN Bay Area's Mindi Bach caught up with Kap, and had a chance to get his thoughts on Geep Chryst's promotion to offensive coordinator. You can watch the video above, but here is a transcript of those comments. I don't think the video is auto-play, but if it is, I'll remove it and just add a link.
On Chryst:
I'm very excited about Geep being our OC. Great person, brilliant guy. And I think he's very open to what the players input is during the game, during the week. And also, open to taking shots down the field and opening up the playbook. So, excited to see what he has in store for us.
On work with Kurt Warner:
A lot already in the little bit of time I've spent with him. He just looks at the game differently, and little things I can pick up from him here and there, will help take not only myself, but the entire offense to another level.
This isn't exactly a stunning revelation, but just one more comment. We'll see if "taking shots down the field and opening up the playbook" actually comes to fruition in seven months.
