The San Francisco 49ers confirmed Jim Tomsula's full coaching staff recently, and while we've said a ton about it already and will clearly saw a whole lot more as the offseason progresses and Tomsula's first game approaches, there's only so much that can be said before football actually starts being played. I have my problems with both coordinator hires, I'm not the biggest fan of some of the position coaches and I question the motives behind Tomsula's promotion on top of that -- but I'm willing to give them all a chance in the end.
Maybe that's simply naive of me, but it will be an interesting ride at the very least, no?
Anyway, I just wanted to take a minute to highlight something from Monday that we didn't touch on. As a salute to my own persistent pessimism, there was this Tweet from Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle on Monday:
Heard from #49ers player who thinks changes to coaching staff will hurt team in 2015: "Everyone will see soon enough," he said.

Now, there's a couple things to consider before you start freaking out. The biggest thing, of course, is the likelihood that this is a player who is already on the way out. There are plenty of 49ers players who simply won't be back next year, some of their own choosing and some of the 49ers' choosing.
It's probably a safe bet that this quote came from one of those players, though given the way this offseason has shaken out, nothing would really surprise me. At the end of the day, most of these players are generally united and excited to do whatever they can to make a successful team -- saying "Everyone will see soon enough," sounds more like an outsider's perspective.
Or a soon-to-be outsider. But hey, that's just my speculation. This statement could easily come from a team leader and the 49ers are truly in trouble. But for now we'll just continue riding the wave of randomness that is this 49ers offseason. It should also be noted that the player is almost objectively correct, as "changes to coaching staff" isn't limited to coordinators or the hiring of Tomsula, but the general ousting of Jim Harbaugh and Vic Fangio departing.
