The NFL combine is being held this week and teams are searching for that one player that can help change a franchise. The Niners, even after their terrible season in 2014, are projected to still have a top team as far as talent is concerned. As any team in the NFL, they have potential weak spots that need to be addressed in the draft coming up soon.

Regardless of what happens to Michael Crabtree, the biggest hole in the team is in the wide receiver position. This is the one position that Trent Baalke has been unable to find a good player for. I doubt that the team resigns Crabtree. The team missed out on one of the best rookie WR classes in a long time last season unless Bruce Ellington is allowed to show what he is capable of doing this season. Another position of concern is RB. Even if the Niners were to sign Frank Gore, the team would still probably look to draft a new RB to split carries with Carlos Hyde and the healthy, returning Kendall Hunter. This draft figures to be a deep RB draft, so do not be surprised if the team selects a RB in the mid to late rounds.

On the defensive side, the team needs to address the cornerback and outside LB positions. At corner, both starting CBs are free agents. The Niners figure to negotiate with Chris Culliver since he's the younger, bigger, and more consistent CB. But potentially, Perrish Cox and him could walk. That would leave the team in a dire situation. At outside LB, most sources believe Ahmad Brooks will be cut to save money and we don't know what Aldon does after his contract is up. Drafting good football players at this position could potentially help the team when Aldon is up for free agency. This is going to be a fun couple of months, kids!
