Fooch's 49ers calendar: February 27

New, comments

Welcome back to Fooch's 49ers calendar! For those who missed it previously, this past Christmas I received a 49ers tear-away calendar for Christmas. I've gotten them frequently over the years, and it makes for a fun day-by-day look at 49ers history. Given that we are all 49ers fans here (minus you Seahawks fans!), I thought it would be fun to create a daily open thread featuring that day's calendar page. It will feature trivia of some kind, be it just some details, or a question and answer.

It is kind of fitting that today's trivia is related to the Arizona Cardinals. Earlier today, the Cardinals released defensive tackle Darnell Dockett. He has been an amusing rival over the years. It will be interesting to see what kind of interest he draws. I do not expect big money offers, but I have to think a lot of teams will at least give his agent a call. Dockett is coming off a torn ACL and is 33. That is not exactly ideal for big money, but some deals will be out there.

Will the 49ers be one of those teams? I would not be surprised if they at least look into it. He was listed with a failed physical designation, but that is used for purposes of a contract settlement. I am not overly concerned about that for purposes of a potential future contract. Who knows how it plays out, but expect to hear several teams mentioned in connection with Dockett.

And in the meantime, let's hope for a couple more wins against the Cardinals in 2015!
