Golden Nuggets: Mike Iupati will probably rebound

New, comments

Friday, February 6th, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning folks. It's been a few days and I'm not finding any new San Francisco 49ers news to be angry or upset about, so naturally I'm unhappy. Getting time to sit and stew and think thoughts about the team and such really bothers me, because it starts to bring on something of a ... clarity, and I think most people know that I'm not happy unless I've got something to complain about.

I was looking over the same list that Fooch posted on Thursday, on which left guard Mike Iupati was listed near the top of their free agent rankings. I honestly am conflicted regarding Iupati at this point. He obviously had a horrible season last year (and anybody who says otherwise is positively loopy) but do we really think that's what he's going to be like always? I think he's shown enough to warrant another look from the 49ers.

Then again, he's probably going to get a massive contract from someone else. So he's as good as gone. There's also a link in today's Nuggets that mentions Jed York wants the 49ers to be more like the Seattle Seahawks ... I think it's true, but I also think it's kind of crazy, given that we were reading about the Seahawks wanting to be more like the 49ers just a couple seasons ago. Seattle is officially better at being the 49ers than the 49ers.

Onto your links.
