How many wins will the 49ers reach in 2015?

New, comments

It's time to stir up the hornet's nest a little bit. How many wins would you project for the 49ers in 2015, even though it is way too early to actually do this?

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

I realize this is waaaaaaaay too early for anybody to know anything for certain, but I wanted to establish a baseline that we will re-visit as the offseason moves on. The San Francisco 49ers appear to be just about wrapped up with figuring out their 2015 coaching staff. Once that is finalized, free agency, the draft and the offseason workout program will all move us closer to training camp.

We know the 49ers full list of opponents, but we will not know the full schedule until sometime in April. That alone will impact how some of us view the 49ers potential tally of wins. That being said, I find it interesting to have a base line with what people think at different steps along the way.

Given what we know at this moment, how many wins do you think the 49ers finish with in 2015? I've attached a poll, so let us know in there. And don't worry, I won't be holding any of you to that total. I simply want to have these polls to look back on as the offseason moves along, and even eleven months from now when the 2015 regular season is finished.

Right now, I think a potential worst case could very well end up in the 5 or 6 range, and a potential best case could end up in the 11 or 12 range. Some will view one or both of those as completely unreasonable, but that's the joy of considering this stuff a week after the Super Bowl ended. With so much work left to do, and really so much to learn, I'm inclined to just say nine as a bit of a cop out. It would be an improvement on last year, but not exactly an inspiring performance.

Here is the full list of 49ers opponents.

Home: Falcons, Ravens, Bengals, Packers, Vikings, Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks
Away: Giants, Steelers, Browns, Bears, Lions, Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks
